arrow This piece features upbeats, pizzicato, tremolo and sul ponticello bowing, to depict the falling snowflakes and the shivering cold of a Swedish winter. The speed should be steady, so the pizzicato notes can be easily managed. Cello and Bass share the melodic material from bar 30. Take care from bar 35 - There is a rall, followed by a pause. The students should be reminded to look at the conductor and listen carefully through the meno mosso and accelerando to the tempo primo. This piece is dedicated to my niece Freja, who spent
a white Christmas at her father’s hometown of Bodafors in Sweden. Freya plays the viola in her school orchestra in Sydney.
